The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for this Critical Access Hospital (CAH) will be an employee of Community Hospital Corporation (CHC), working under the joint direction of the local Hospital CEO and CHC’s SVP of Hospital Financial Operations. The CFO is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of the overall financial planning and financial operations for Freestone Medical Center in Fairfield, TX, while ensuring compliance with the hospital’s mission, vision, values, goals, strategic direction, and applicable laws and regulations. The CFO appraises the organization's financial position and issues periodic financial and operating reports. As a CHC corporate employee deployed locally, this role directs the hospital's financial planning, rural revenue cycle management, cost reporting, payroll, and accounting practices, while overseeing treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, purchasing, real estate, and insurance. The CFO develops and implements policies and procedures to include safeguarding of assets and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles; ensures proper accountability and reporting to federal and state agencies; and manages all matters pertinent to a fiscally responsible flow of rural hospital operations. Assures the implementation and adherence to CHC system-wide financial policies and procedures. The CFO is responsible for cultivating positive relationships and effective communications with lending institutions, the financial community, Community Hospital Corporation, medical staff, employees, volunteers, community representatives, and board members as appropriate.
