Campfire is a next-gen core accounting platform built for modern mid-market finance teams. We help them close fast and scale even faster. Our platform replaces outdated legacy ERPs and manual accounting processes with automation-driven solutions that simplify and accelerate finance workflows. In the past year alone, we have grown 10x, driven by strong customer demand and a product that delivers real results for accounting & finance teams. We are scaling quickly and building the future of finance by giving teams the clarity, control, and strategic visibility they need to lead with confidence. We're looking for a strategic, execution-oriented CFO to lead Campfire's financial operations and help shape the company's next phase of growth. This is a seat at the leadership table — you'll partner closely with the CEO and board to drive business strategy, capital decisions, and long-term planning.
Requirements
- 10+ years of finance leadership experience, ideally in high-growth SaaS or enterprise software
- Prior experience as CFO or VP Finance at a venture-backed company preferred
- Track record of leading fundraising rounds (Series B and beyond) or taking a company public
- Strong communicator who can translate complex financial data into strategic insight for diverse audiences
- Operator mindset — comfortable getting into the details while keeping an eye on the big picture
- A true product champion — You'll use Campfire daily as a core part of running the finance function, and carry that firsthand experience into every external conversation, embodying what it means to be a customer and ambassador of the product you help build.
- Deep integrity and sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Responsibilities
- Own the financial narrative - Serve as a key executive voice to investors, board members, partners, and the broader market, representing Campfire's vision and financial story with clarity and conviction.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting across the company
- Drive fundraising strategy, investor relations, and capital allocation decisions
- Build and scale the finance, accounting, and operations functions
- Partner with GTM, Product, and Engineering leaders to inform pricing, unit economics, and growth decisions
- Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
- Evaluate strategic partnerships, and other corporate transactions
