About The Position

Rebound Behavioral Health is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its facility in Lancaster, SC. This 63-bed facility provides mental health and substance use treatment, including inpatient psychiatric care, medical detox, and outpatient programs. The CFO is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for financial and functional decision-making to achieve the facility's operational and financial goals. The role encompasses overall financial operations and day-to-day fiscal management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a business-related field with a major in Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful CFO experience in a healthcare setting is desired.
  • Previous Behavioral healthcare experience is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare system is highly preferred.
  • CPA or Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven financial analysis skills.
  • Experience working with information technology and proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with facility staff, physicians, and corporate staff.
  • Ability to lead with a high degree of emotional intelligence and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements.
  • Reconciles all balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards, and timely correction of variances.
  • Prepares corporate required reports, including Monthly Operating Report, Monthly Certifications, Corporate Disclosures, and Forecasts, accurately and on time.
  • Ensures accounting and business office policies and internal controls are in place for clean audits, and that all approval processes are established.
  • Directs Revenue Cycle operations to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable, minimize uncompensated care, achieve cash collection and AR day goals, and reduce bad debt and denials. Routinely reviews revenue cycle metrics to identify and address performance issues.
  • Ensures Front End Revenue Cycle processes are in place, including 100% insurance verification, proper determination of patient portions, approval of discounts/charity, and accurate logging of upfront collections.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies to ensure accurate payment and revenue deduction recording. Facilitates preparation of required cost reports.
  • Supervises Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, Materials Management, and other departments assigned by the CEO, ensuring adequate staffing and training.
  • Ensures compliance with Group Purchasing contracts and monitors purchases to maintain supply costs within budget.
  • Prepares the annual operating budget and participates in the annual strategic planning process. Provides ongoing analysis of budget variances and assists the CEO in implementing changes to achieve budget goals.
  • Prepares annual capital budgets and Capital Equipment Requests. Ensures accurate recording of assets and related depreciation in compliance with company policies.
