CFO - Chief Financial Officer

BillorRaleigh, NC

About The Position

Billor is entering its most consequential phase: an institutional equity round today and a public listing on the horizon. We are looking for a CFO who has done this before. This is not a controllership role. It is a capital markets mandate. You will sit at the CEO's right hand, own the company's credit and equity strategy end to end, and lead Billor through IPO readiness and, ultimately, the listing itself. You will bring your own network of institutional investors, credit funds, investment banks, and lenders, and you will put it to work from day one.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of finance leadership, with prior experience as CFO or a senior finance executive who took a company through a major liquidity event: an IPO or a sizable M&A exit. This is a hard requirement.
  • Deeply networked in the financial markets. You bring existing, active relationships with institutional investors, investment banks, and credit providers, and you put them to work from day one.
  • Proven dealmaker across the capital structure: growth equity rounds, credit facilities, asset-backed structures, and strategic transactions, ideally at increasing scale.
  • Experience financing asset-heavy or credit-intensive business models (fleet, equipment, leasing, or lending portfolios) strongly preferred.
  • Has built or upgraded finance functions to public-company standards: US GAAP reporting, audit readiness, and internal controls.
  • A builder and an operator when needed, but fundamentally a strategist. You translate complex financial dynamics into decisions the CEO and Board can act on.

Nice To Haves

  • Trucking or logistics background is a plus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and execute Billor's capital structure across debt and equity.
  • Lead equity rounds from positioning through close.
  • Structure and negotiate credit facilities that match an asset-heavy business: fleet financing, leasing lines, asset-backed and fintech funding.
  • Optimize cost of capital as the company scales.
  • Serve as Billor's face to the financial community.
  • Originate and own relationships with institutional investors, investment banks, rating agencies, credit funds, and commercial lenders.
  • Lead investor relations, roadshows, and the ongoing narrative that supports our valuation.
  • Own the path to a public listing: corporate structure, US GAAP audit readiness, governance, internal controls, board composition support, S-1 preparation, and banker selection.
  • Set the timeline, drive the workstreams, and hold the organization to public-company standards well before listing day.
  • Drive capital allocation across freight, leasing, and fintech.
  • Embed financial discipline into the levers that matter: driver economics, lease-to-own ROI, asset utilization, and fintech product profitability.
  • Shape pricing, cost structure, and the business model from a financial lens.
  • Communicate results, strategy, and risk to the Board, investors, and lenders.
  • Own board materials, investor packs, and the financial narrative of the company.
  • Recruit and lead a finance team built for scale, including strong controllership and FP&A leadership beneath you, so your time stays on strategy and capital, not on closing the books.
