About The Position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, including financial planning, risk management, and record-keeping. This role requires strong leadership competencies such as strategic vision, operational discipline, financial turnaround expertise, executive presence, board-level communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and a commitment to the safety-net healthcare mission. The CFO will also possess strong knowledge in areas like Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, revenue cycle management, healthcare cost accounting, capital planning, and strategic financial planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance
  • Minimum 10 years of senior healthcare financial leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years as CFO, Deputy CFO, or equivalent role.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, MHA, CPA, or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-range financial forecasts and strategic plans.
  • Present financial performance and recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
  • Establish performance metrics for billing, collections, and cash acceleration.
  • Monitor payer performance and reimbursement trends.
  • Lead Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement strategy.
  • Maximize supplemental funding opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with governmental agencies and regulators.
  • Oversee Managed Care and Payer Contracting.
  • Conduct Physician compensation and productivity analyses.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership on operational improvement initiatives.
  • Develop infrastructure investment strategies.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures and return on investment.
  • Assist in grant procurement and financing initiatives.
