About The Position

HHM Talent is assisting a client search for a Chief Financial Officer in greater Chattanooga, TN. The CFO will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the President, providing executive-level financial oversight of the company's financial planning, budgeting, reporting, risk management and investment strategies. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on financial leader who can balance high-level strategic planning with day-to-day operational oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, accounting, and financial reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA credential preferred.
  • Prior experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or senior financial leader preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred.
  • Cost accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and executive leadership team on financial planning, business performance, growth opportunities, and long-term strategy.
  • Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support major business decisions, investments, acquisitions, expansions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and develop short and long-term financial plans.
  • Oversee financial forecasting, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Ensure the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures are in place.
  • Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, investors, and other financial partners as needed.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and finance team.
  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, reporting tools, and technology.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, HR, and other departments to improve financial visibility and accountability.
