Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional strategic planning, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail that supports data-driven decision-making.
  • Flexible schedule, may involve occasional evenings and weekends, along with travel within the Council’s service area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 4 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Audit experience.
  • Familiarity with managing operating budgets exceeding $5 million.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred.
  • Nonprofit or fund accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead finance and accounting initiatives, driving strategic decision-making that enhances mission-driven goals.
  • Oversee all financial operations, from planning and reporting to stewardship that drives long-term organizational health.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop strategic financial plans.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Board’s Finance and Audit Committees.
  • Ensure sustainable practices that align with the organization's mission.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity and customer-centricity throughout the organization.
