The CFO is responsible for directing the accounting/financing department of the organization in accordance with sound business practices and generally accepted accounting principles. This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers and fax machines. The CFO will participate in the development of the corporation's strategies, plans and programs as part of the senior management team. They will evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning including risk, profitability, and capital. The CFO will provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, cash flow, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities. They will provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments. The CFO will also serve as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter.
