About The Position

GHJ Search and Staffing, the recruitment division of GHJ, a national accounting and advisory firm, is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a large, community-focused healthcare organization. This is a significant opportunity to lead the financial strategy of a complex healthcare system with projected annual operating revenue exceeding $1 billion and contribute to the organization's and community's long-term health. The CFO will report to the CEO and provide executive leadership for finance, revenue cycle, treasury, procurement, health information management, and other key operational areas. The role involves overseeing six Director-level leaders and collaborating with senior management and the Board of Directors on financial strategy, capital planning, investments, and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • CPA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
  • Senior-level financial management experience within the acute care hospital healthcare industry required
  • Strong expertise in healthcare finance, financial planning, treasury, and capital strategy
  • Proven ability to lead complex financial and operational functions
  • Executive-level communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to effectively partner with senior leadership and Boards on strategic financial decisions

Responsibilities

  • Lead short- and long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity management
  • Provide financial and operational leadership across finance, revenue cycle, patient accounting, managed care, materials management, and related functions
  • Evaluate existing and potential service lines and business ventures through financial modeling and strategic analysis
  • Manage organizational cash, investments, and capital requirements
  • Develop and execute financing strategies for operational and capital needs
  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, bondholders, and credit rating agencies
  • Oversee annual external audits and ensure strong financial controls and accountability
  • Present financial performance, analysis, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board
  • Support negotiations with insurance companies, health plans, employers, and other third-party partners
