About The Position

Star Media Enterprises is a long established provider of audience measurement software and ratings data to the ad supported television industry, with a multi product platform (StarTrak, StarEstimator, StarPost, WARP, MultiTrak) used by broadcast and cable networks to inform research, sales, and stewardship decisions. The company processes daily data from Nielsen, Comscore, and VideoAmp, with evaluation systems for iSpot and Vizio/Inscape, and its flagship StarTrak System is used by most ad supported television networks that receive national overnight ratings. Star Media is part of the Banyan Software portfolio, a permanent home for software businesses serving specialized industries. This is a chance to lead a trusted, multi decade market leader through its next chapter. Star Media sits at the center of a high stakes data ecosystem for cable and broadcast networks, and the next CEO will modernize how the company presents, prices, and packages its products while protecting the trust the platform has earned across major media customers. There is real space to expand penetration within the existing customer base, reposition a portfolio of mature products, and bring AI to bear on how audience data is processed, surfaced, and licensed. The right leader is product oriented, commercially fluent, and credible inside the network ecosystem from day one.

Requirements

  • The CEO we are looking for is a product led SaaS leader and commercial operator who is energized by the opportunity to create real, lasting business value.
  • They have held senior executive responsibility at a vertical SaaS company or a technical role within the industry.
  • They are capable of proactively repositioning products ahead of market pressure, make difficult product and talent decisions for the long term health of the business, and understand how to grow recurring revenue and protect the retention that makes it durable.
  • This is a value creating enterprise SaaS leader who sees AI not as a feature but as a structural advantage embedded in how they build, operate, and create enduring competitive distance for the businesses they lead.
  • Owned the P&L and operational outcomes for a B2B SaaS organization, business unit or media division function, driving direct accountability for revenue growth and margin expansion.
  • Built a repeatable go to market engine, establishing scalable sales and expansion motions within a vertical or enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Led an organization through a meaningful inflection point (a product repositioning, a pricing model redesign, a market expansion) before the market forced the change.
  • Delivered measurable structural improvements to net revenue retention and pricing power, turning margin durability from a strategic priority into a realized business outcome.
  • Deep familiarity with the cable and broadcast network ecosystem, including the buyers, workflows, and economics of ad supported television research, sales, and stewardship.
  • Direct experience with Nielsen, Comscore, VideoAmp, or comparable audience measurement data is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the company's strategic direction, market positioning, and competitive response across cable, broadcast, and adjacent television buyers.
  • Drive revenue growth with full P&L accountability across retention, expansion, pricing, and new customer acquisition within the network ecosystem, and serve as the external face of Star Media to research leaders, network customers, and industry peers.
  • Identify and act on AI driven opportunities to reposition the product and create durable competitive distance, including how Nielsen, Comscore, and VideoAmp data are processed, surfaced, and licensed.
  • Own the product roadmap at a strategic level across StarTrak, StarEstimator, StarPost, and WARP, ensuring the portfolio reflects how modern research, sales, and stewardship teams want to work.
  • Partner with the technology leader and engineering team to translate a modernized product vision into a credible execution sequence.
  • Champion AI first product thinking, identifying where automation, predictive insights, and intelligent workflows create durable differentiation in audience measurement and ratings analytics.
  • Build and lead a tight knit leadership team, preserving the institutional knowledge and customer relationships that have defined Star Media for more than three decades.
  • Elevate talent density across the organization, establish decision rights, execution cadences, and accountability frameworks that increase speed without disrupting the customer trust the platform has earned.
