About The Position

This is a rare and impactful opportunity to lead The Mutual RRG, a medical professional liability organization dedicated to supporting physicians and advancing high-quality patient care. Operating in close partnership with Vituity as its single client, The Mutual RRG offers a unique model focused on alignment, collaboration, and long-term impact. We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven President & Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization in partnership with the Board of Directors and executive leadership. The CEO will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and performance of the organization. This role requires a leader who can balance operational excellence with long-term strategy while fostering a highly collaborative, service-oriented culture.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience within medical professional liability insurance or a closely related sector
  • Demonstrated expertise across insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and financial management
  • Strong understanding of healthcare and physician practice environments
  • Experience working with Boards and regulatory bodies
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and scale organizations

Nice To Haves

  • Prior CEO or executive leadership experience within an MPL organization
  • Experience supporting geographic or service line expansion
  • Familiarity with reinsurance program design and execution
  • Advanced degree in business or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the organization’s long-term strategic vision in alignment with Vituity growth
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to identify and address key strategic priorities
  • Drive financial performance, profitability, and sustainable growth
  • Support geographic and service expansion aligned with Vituity’s needs
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure high standards of quality and responsiveness
  • Build and develop a high-performing executive leadership team
  • Establish and maintain operational systems, processes, and infrastructure to support growth
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment across the organization
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and fiscal discipline
  • Partner with actuarial, underwriting, and claims leadership to support sound business decisions
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, including Vituity executives, on the management of significant claims
  • Support a client-centered claims philosophy that prioritizes transparency and partnership
  • Maintain and strengthen the organization’s relationship with Vituity, ensuring alignment and trust
  • Partner closely with the Board Chair and Board of Directors on governance and strategic direction
  • Prepare and present regular updates on financial performance, operations, and growth initiatives
  • Represent the organization with credibility to stakeholders, partners, and the broader industry
