About The Position

The Chief Engineer leads hotel maintenance operations to ensure the property, equipment, and building systems remain safe, functional, and well maintained. The role performs and oversees repairs and preventive maintenance while supporting excellent guest service. This is an on-site leadership position with flexible availability, including nights and weekends; periodic overnight travel may be required. Salary is $65,000–$75,000 per year.

Requirements

5–10 years of maintenance engineer, technician, or similar experience.
Working knowledge of preventive maintenance, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
Strong troubleshooting, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Experience safely using hand and power tools.
Must meet company security clearance requirements.
Ability to push or pull up to 100 lbs. and lift or carry up to 60 lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, bend, crawl, kneel, and reach.
Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
Periodic overnight travel may be required.

HVAC and Pool certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, supervise, and develop maintenance associates.
Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and other building systems.
Manage and document the preventive maintenance program.
Conduct property inspections and identify safety, security, and facility improvement needs.
Respond promptly to work orders and delegate repairs when appropriate.
Maintain hotel interiors, exteriors, equipment, and grounds.
Ensure maintenance tools, materials, and equipment are available and properly maintained.
Assist with interviewing, training, coaching, and performance management of maintenance staff.
Maintain required maintenance logs, inspections, and documentation.
Manage maintenance activities within budget while maintaining company and brand standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
