Requirements
- Certifications in equipment operations.
- Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in physical plant and building operations, including power plants for large facilities.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Must hold one of the following: Association for Facilities Engineers (AFE) Certificate as an Operating Professional Engineer (OPE), United States Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer License (Steam, Motor, or Gas Turbine vessels of any horsepower), U.S. State Stationary Engineer License.
- District of Columbia 3rd Class Steam Engineer License (must obtain 1st Class License within two years of hire).
Responsibilities
- Manage physical plant and building operations, including power plants supporting large facilities.
- Supervise engineering and maintenance personnel with responsibility for daily operations, troubleshooting, and long-term planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and technical standards.
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and operation of critical building systems and equipment.
- Coordinate with leadership, contractors, and inspectors on operational requirements and facility support.
- Maintain readiness to operate within a facility requiring Secret-level clearance.
