The Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring the hotel is in great working order and meets all operational standards related to the Engineering Department. This role involves conducting walk-throughs and assessments of the hotel's structure, systems, and equipment, and managing the Preventive Maintenance Program for rooms and public areas. The Chief Engineer collaborates with the hotel management team and the General Manager, and is responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, and counseling associates. Additionally, this role ensures the grounds are well-maintained, implements safety and emergency policies, leads engineering associates to ensure proper staffing, and manages the department's budget, including purchasing, contractor management, and developing property improvement plans.
