Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management discipline.
  • Shall possess certifications in equipment operations with five (5) or more years’ supervisory experience in physical plant and building operations including power plants for large facilities.
  • Possess a Top-Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Must hold a certificate from either Association for Facilities Engineers (AFE) as a CPE, United State Coast Guard Third Assistant Engineer License, of Steam, Motor, or Gas Turbine vessels of any horsepower, or a U.S. State Stationary Engineers License.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and schedule staff to perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and updating building inventory.
  • Participate in recruitment, examination, and the hiring process.
  • Evaluate praise and discipline assigned staff on an as needed basis.
  • Work with the Program Manager and participate in the individual career development of assigned staff.
  • Act as a mentor to the assigned staff by assisting them in developing their skills through hands on technical training.
  • Review and provide solutions to technical issues and challenges determining where improvements can be made and recommend and implement changes.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training on a regular basis.
  • Encourage and monitor work for adherence to professional and mandated standards.
  • Maintain and review work records of assigned staff or crews.
  • Determine time, materials, supplies, and overall costs needed to complete assignments and provide input into the budget process.
  • Ensure that safe and efficient work practices and procedures are followed, including those pertaining to the set-up of work sites, the use of equipment, the maintenance and storage of equipment, materials and tools, and the use of personal protective clothing and equipment.
  • Inspect the U.S. government internal building projects for compliance with specifications, standards, and codes, coordinate work within the city and other agencies.
  • Develop and adhere to a preventive maintenance program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
