About The Position

Ensure effective overall operation of the Engineering Department in meeting the 24-hour demands of a successful Hotel/Casino Operation. Responsibilities include overseeing work performed by the department Engineers for all assigned shifts, participating in work related activity as needed and appropriate, and ensuring that all Company standards, policies and procedures are followed on a daily basis. Supervise and oversee job performance and work standards within the Engineering Department. Assign and monitor daily and hourly work for smooth flow of assignments and Department cooperation. Ensure projects and daily assignments are completed accurately, timely, and in the most efficient manner. Oversee and follow proper procedures for ordering engineering parts for various jobs and projects to ensure parts are on hand when needed. Maintain a safe Hotel and Casino environment for internal and external Guests by ensuring adherence to safety standards. Ensure all engineering spaces are kept clean and to standard required by various codes. Prepare property for seasonal changes (i.e. heating, cooling etc.). Anticipate needs of contests, promotions, special events, etc., and ensure provisions for required equipment and/or props are made.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests and Team Members
  • A working knowledge of machinery, switchgear, power equipment and electrical distribution systems, i.e., boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, kitchen systems, air conditioning systems, water and steam generation and distribution, plumbing, pools, and communication systems
  • Knowledge of current codes including building, mechanical and plumbing, electrical, health, fire and safety, as well as the authority having jurisdiction over the particular code(s)
  • Ability to coordinate multiple jobs assigning the best qualified Engineer to each task
  • Ability to supervise subordinates through interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to obtain a Nevada driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and technical documents used in building and system repairs
