About The Position

The Chief Engineer is responsible for performing highly skilled maintenance and repair duties for the property, including but not limited to chillers, boilers, pumps, air handler's controls, walk-in freezers, and coolers. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position requires flexibility in hours, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight shifts, based on business needs. The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

A minimum of (4) years of relevant HVAC tech experience.
A minimum of (2) year of experience in a hotel environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
EPA I, II, or Universal certification needed.
Refrigeration, electrical and plumbing skills, boiler operation and maintenance skills, water treatment and chiller operation knowledge.
Refrigeration license required.
Highly responsible and reliable.
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining call and courteous at all times.
Flexible schedule. Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Make repairs to air conditioners – change filters, clean coils, replace blower motors, etc.
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, replace HVAC compressors.
Take chiller readings and water samples.
Test tower water and record data.
Check and replace pumps.
Adjust chemical pumps as required.
Perform plumbing repairs – open clogged drains, change FET washers, stems seats, cartridges, handles, drain fittings, etc.
Understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Maintain preventive maintenance of HVAC systems
Repair kitchen equipment.
Analyze, repair and install chillers, boilers, controls, walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in coolers and freezers, pumps, ice makers, compressors, expansion valves, and electric motors.
Clean pool pump room.
Assist in supervising other maintenance staff
Assist in scheduling of preventive maintenance tasks.
Maintain pool and spa – clean, vacuum, adjust chemical levels, change valves, and replace filters.
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service- oriented manner.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include adhering to the proper dress code and wearing a name tag while working.
