About The Position

Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas is seeking a full-time Chief Electrical Engineer for its jobsite in Point Comfort, Texas. The role designs, implements, tests, installs, starts up, commissions, and troubleshoots electrical systems and equipment, including substations, high-voltage protection systems, transformers, variable frequency drives, digital soft starters, inverters, grounding and cathodic protection, and wiring lists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of related work experience; alternatively, 8 years of work experience in the field of Electrical Engineering in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement digital soft starters and inverters.
• Design and implement grounding and cathodic protection.
• Design protection relay settings in high-voltage electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot protection relay settings in high-voltage electrical systems.
• Design, test, install, start up, and commission substations.
• Design and implement transformers.
• Design settings for variable frequency drives.
• Design wiring lists.
