About The Position

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) invites nominations and applications for the position of Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine. This is an exceptional opportunity for a collaborative and accomplished physician leader to provide strategic, clinical, and academic leadership for a nationally recognized and growing division within a thriving academic medical center and expanding network of community-based clinics and endoscopy sites. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, within MCW's Department of Medicine, is a comprehensive and growing program providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care across academic and community-based settings. The Division is supported by 26 clinical faculty, seven staff physicians, 13 gastroenterology fellows, and 26 advanced practice providers, with expertise spanning the full spectrum of gastroenterology and hepatology. The Division serves as a regional and national referral destination for complex digestive disorders. The Division supports a large, geographically distributed clinical enterprise spanning outpatient, inpatient, consultative, and endoscopic services across the Froedtert & MCW Health Network. Division faculty and advanced practice providers conduct approximately 35,000 patient visits and nearly 29,500 endoscopic procedures annually. With a strong clinical foundation and continued expansion across academic and community-based settings, the Division is well positioned for continued program development and growth. The Division also supports a robust academic mission through its highly competitive ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship, Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship, active resident and medical student education programs, and a growing research portfolio spanning clinical, translational, and investigator-initiated studies. The next Chief will have the opportunity to build upon this strong foundation and shape the future of gastroenterology and hepatology at MCW. The Chief will provide strategic leadership across the Division's clinical, educational, research, and faculty development missions while partnering with Department, hospital, and health system leaders to drive strategic growth, recruit and develop outstanding faculty, strengthen multidisciplinary programs, expand access, and advance the Division's regional and national reputation. The successful candidate will possess an MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree, be board certified in gastroenterology and/or hepatology, and be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Wisconsin. Candidates must possess academic accomplishments commensurate with appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level at MCW. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build upon a strong foundation and shape the Division’s next phase of growth across its clinical, educational, research, and faculty development missions. Requirements

• MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree
• Board certified in gastroenterology and/or hepatology
