About The Position

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a key member of the executive team at the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, responsible for advancing the organization's mission by driving fundraising and development strategies. This role involves leading transformative fundraising initiatives to support youth across the region. The CDO will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and Advisory Councils to shape the organization's future, lead a dedicated team, and engage with major donors.

Requirements

• Proven success in fundraising, including major gifts, annual campaigns, and grant writing.
• Stellar communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a high-performing team.
• A passion for our mission and a commitment to driving positive change.
• A desire to travel and engage with our communities frequently.

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide the Resource Development team and act as a visionary for future fundraising initiatives.
• Drive strategies for major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and annual campaigns.
• Identify and pursue grant opportunities while ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
• Report progress to the CEO and Board, manage donor records, and ensure reconciliation with the Finance Department.
• Lead and inspire a team of development and grant professionals.
