Okeanos is a sustainable technology company focused on reducing plastic waste and its CO2 impacts through its innovative Made From Stone™ (MFS) technology. MFS is a "drop-in" solution that reduces virgin plastic and CO2 emissions in packaging and everyday items. This role reports to the CEO and is responsible for overseeing the commercial strategy and driving revenue growth. The CCO will manage five regional sales heads, a technical sales team, and the customer service organization. The ideal candidate is energetic, passionate about the company's mission, and eager to innovate in reducing plastic waste and CO2 emissions. This is a global role requiring extensive travel and familiarity with international business and cultural norms. The company is early-stage, requiring a nimble approach to scaling the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/executive role.
  • Demonstrated success consistently overachieving sales targets and budgets.
  • Experience in the packaging industry, preferably sustainable packaging, with a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends.
  • Demonstrated experience selling and supporting clients in North America, Latin America, and other regions around the world.
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting, market analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to leverage data to drive commercial decisions.
  • Expertise in CRM and sales management tools.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams across multiple regions or divisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience in helping to build a rapidly growing start-up company is a plus.
  • Multilingual ability is highly desirable, particularly in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the company's commercial strategy, focusing on growth and expansion into new markets, product offerings, and customer segments.
  • Be the primary senior interface for key clients globally, along with the CEO.
  • Oversee the sales organization, setting sales targets and performance goals, and ensuring sales teams meet or exceed revenue objectives.
  • Manage the technical sales support team to ensure seamless delivery of product recommendations to clients.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive customer service plan to build strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business growth.
  • Maintain CRM system to track activity with key prospects and clients.
  • Utilize market data and customer insights to inform commercial strategy and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, and product development teams to ensure seamless execution of the commercial strategy.
  • Achieve revenue budget and ensure efficient cost management to maximize profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with the company's values.
