About The Position

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) serves as the executive leader responsible for the strategic planning, operational oversight, and performance of Georgia Wellness's clinical service lines, including Women's Health and Pediatrics. The CCO ensures that clinical operations are efficient, patient-centered, compliant, and aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals. This position provides leadership for clinical operations, provider support, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, workforce development, and program growth. The CCO works collaboratively with department leaders to optimize workflows, improve patient access, enhance the patient experience, and support the delivery of high-quality care across all clinical programs.

Requirements

Master’s Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Administrative leadership experience in a clinical setting
Experience with EMR systems and healthcare analytics
Communicates effectively, respectfully, and courteously with all contacts – internal and external
Works productively, effectively, and respectfully with diverse people
Maintains current knowledge of, and complies with organizational and departmental policies and procedures
Meets all applicable safety requirements for the position and work environment, including prompt incident reporting, according to GWG’s policy

Responsibilities

Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to the organization's strategic vision and long-term growth.
Develop and execute strategic initiatives that strengthen clinical services, improve patient outcomes, and support organizational objectives.
Lead the operational performance of all clinical service lines, including Women's Health and Pediatrics.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and patient-centered care throughout the organization.
Collaborate with executive leadership to identify opportunities for service expansion, operational efficiencies, and new clinical programs.
Provide executive oversight of the day-to-day operations of Women's Health and Pediatric clinical services.
Ensure clinical operations are efficient, patient-focused, and aligned with organizational goals.
Ensure staff is adhering to communication and best practices within daily departmental huddles.
Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and workflows that support high-quality care delivery.
Monitor patient access, scheduling efficiency, provider productivity, and clinic performance.
Partner with operational leaders to optimize staffing models, resource allocation, and patient flow.
Lead operational planning for new service lines, clinic expansion, and program implementation.
Work collaboratively with the Medical Director to align operational strategies with clinical priorities.
Support implementation of clinical protocols, evidence-based practices, and standards of care established by the Medical Director.
Collaborate on strategic planning for Women's Health and Pediatric services.
Assist in the execution of quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
Support provider engagement, recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts.
Ensure operational decisions support safe, effective, and compliant clinical practice.
Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop clinical leadership staff.
Promote collaboration among providers, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative teams.
Foster a positive, mission-driven workplace culture focused on continuous improvement.
Lead regular leadership meetings and facilitate communication across departments.
Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
Attends organization-hosted events as requested by the CEO.
Resolves conflicts with internal and external stakeholders by addressing complaints immediately within an established grievance procedure.
Maintains confidentiality of patients, staff, and organizational proprietary information by developing, instituting, and monitoring policies to protect the privacy and rights of those entities.
Support the CEO in communicating key issues and needs to the Board of Directors.
Oversee provider scheduling, onboarding, orientation, and operational support.
Collaborate with Human Resources and the Medical Director in provider recruitment and retention efforts.
Develop programs that enhance provider engagement, communication, and professional development.
Ensure providers have the operational resources needed to deliver exceptional patient care.
Address operational concerns affecting provider efficiency and patient experience.
Partner with the Medical Director on provider performance improvement initiatives as needed.
Identify opportunities to expand Women's Health and Pediatric services.
Lead operational planning and implementation for new clinical programs.
Evaluate new technologies, workflows, and service delivery models.
Support grant-funded clinical initiatives and reporting requirements.
Build relationships with community organizations, referral partners, and healthcare stakeholders to improve access to care.
Oversees the Risk Management program.
Serves on the Quality Improvement Committee and the Medical Executive Committee.
Monitor quality metrics, patient satisfaction, access measures, and operational key performance indicators.
Coordinate quality improvement projects across clinical departments.
Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Support accreditation activities and regulatory readiness.
Partner with the Medical Director in reviewing clinical quality outcomes and implementing corrective action plans.
Ensure clinical operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
Oversee compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, CMS, Medicaid, and organizational policies.
Oversees credentialing requirements for providers and medical staff.
Lead organizational efforts to achieve and maintain Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) accreditation by ensuring operational compliance with accreditation standards, coordinating survey preparation activities, and overseeing corrective action plans.
Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to monitor ongoing compliance with AAAHC standards through continuous quality improvement, policy review, documentation audits, staff education, and performance monitoring to support a culture of accreditation readiness.
Maintain operational readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews.
Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and monitor compliance education and ongoing staff development for clinical staff.
Identify opportunities to expand Women's Health and Pediatric services.
Lead operational planning and implementation for new clinical programs.
Evaluate new technologies, workflows, and service delivery models.
Support grant-funded clinical initiatives and reporting requirements.
Partner with marketing department to implement patient education communications.
Develop and manage clinical operating budgets in collaboration with executive leadership.
Monitor departmental financial performance and identify opportunities for cost-effective operations.
Evaluate staffing needs and resource utilization.
Collaborate with finance and operations leaders on forecasting and strategic investments.
Support revenue cycle optimization through improved documentation, workflow, and operational processes.
