About The Position

The Chief AI Strategy Officer is responsible for partnering with Post Holdings and its businesses to design and oversee the execution of AI strategy. This role will serve as the driver for initiatives and priorities for enterprise-wide functions related to AI. This strategic advisor will be equipped to describe, monitor and analyze related initiatives across Post Holdings and its businesses, and be able to communicate initiatives to a variety of stakeholders. This is a highly cross-functional leadership role that will partner across the organization to drive AI transformation. This professional will build an AI strategy appropriate for Post Holdings’ businesses and deepen Post’s understanding of the expectations of its consumers, customers, colleagues and investors of a global company. Working closely with Post’s senior leaders, this professional will lead the effort to fulfill the commitment to AI implementation in the design and implementation of its business strategies and operational objectives. This is a role where the person will need to flex responsibilities depending on the particular initiative, and the existence or non-existence of additional internal resources and fill in where necessary. This position reports to the EVP, Chief Operating Officer of Post Holdings.

Requirements

  • Education: Preferably a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); computer science; artificial intelligence; information systems or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Ten+ years of business experience, ideally in business management or as a consultant, who is recently at or near a senior leadership level, and ideally with some prior P&L responsibilities and who has strong business acumen.
  • Five or more years of progressive leadership experience leading cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, defining and leading enterprise-wide programs/initiatives, operating and influencing effectively across the organization, and within complex contexts.
  • Three or more years of AI experience in information-intensive industries or digitally advanced enterprises.
  • A visionary, creative, and strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Proven track record of applying and deploying AI throughout an organization, leading complex, cross-functional teams in new initiatives and delivering solutions while discussing AI solutions in non-technical language.
  • Innovative thinker who can constructively challenge conventional ways of thinking and introduce new ideas.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, build teams and consensus, get things done through others not directly under their supervision, and work ethically and with integrity.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit that thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to engage credibly with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Through collaboration with executives at Post Holdings and the business units set AI strategy, and priorities for AI initiatives.
  • Serve as a project lead for initiatives that articulate, model, or communicate Post’s enterprise-wide AI strategy, ensuring clarity, alignment, and understanding across all stakeholders.
  • Fosters collaboration and assists with development of policy recommendations.
  • Establish an internal and external AI framework, building working relationships with vendors, partners, research institutes, regulators, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business units and stakeholders to identify and frame critical challenges and opportunities, then lead development of business case development by identifying high-value AI opportunities, modeling ROI, and obtaining executive sponsorship.
  • In partnership with IT, the business units, and other key stakeholders, define the operating model and delivery capabilities to engineer and operationalize AI initiatives, overseeing the development and execution of advanced AI products and solutions, ensuring their scalable and seamless integration across the organization.
  • Serve as a coordination point to ensure AI related surveys, requests for information, and requirements are fulfilled accurately and consistently with a strategic mindset.
  • Provide technical AI assistance and support to the business units, including best practice sharing and advocacy.
  • Monitor emerging AI trends, market dynamics, and technological advances, proactively advising leadership on opportunities and risks.
  • Evaluate and advise on the business risks and opportunities associated with adoption of AI. Elevate emerging issues where appropriate.
  • Champion AI adoption across the company, fostering a culture of AI literacy, innovation, data-driven decision-making and developing change management programs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deploy and embed AI into business models and workflows. Collaborates as a member of the cross-functional AI Council to review use cases and make recommendations for policies and governance programs (e.g., for data usage, model explainability, privacy, etc.).
  • Establish effective collaboration between business units, HR, security, risk, compliance, legal, ethics, safety, and other stakeholders to adapt best practices as necessary.
  • Influence reporting-related organizational goals. Develop processes, infrastructure and schedule for AI reporting.
  • Lead the assessment and measurement of financial impact of AI initiatives, reporting to the business units and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
