About The Position

As a chicken technician, you will manage activities focused on the care, growth, and welfare of our poultry flocks. Day-to-day responsibilities will center on active poultry flock management and high-quality farm maintenance.

Requirements

Ability to quickly spot environmental issues, livestock health changes, or equipment variances and fix them immediately
Commitment to enforcing company safety codes, environmental laws, and emergency protocols across your section
Experience or comfort operating basic tools, driving utility vehicles, and working independently on daily checklists
Comfort walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds in a farm setting

Responsibilities

Monitor animal health
Set up houses for new flocks
Manage water and feed line adjustments
Maintain the ideal climate in the barns
Wash fans
Clean feed bin pads
Perform daily mortality management (collection, recording, and composting/incineration)
Care for chick trays
Maintain bait stations
Handle minor repairs using hand-held drills
Log accurate daily totals for mortality and water consumption
