About The Position

Cherry Picker is responsible for performing any combination of tasks to ensure the orderly, timely and correct flow of materials and product for selection and shipment. Tasks may include but are not limited to retrieving and distributing material(s), inspecting materials for packaging, preparing materials for shipment or storage by placing items in appropriate areas.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Must be able to read and write and verbally communicate in English.
Able to effectively communicate and follow instructions in oral and written form.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with or without hand-held calculators.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (US) and push a wheeled cart weighing up to 150 pounds (US).
Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of SAP system preferred.
Ability to motivate personnel.

Responsibilities

Must be able to count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing products to compare identifying information and variety against pick lists, oral instructions, orders, or other records.
Must be able to effectively use manual means (pushcart, pallet jack) or material handling equipment (cherry picker) to process customer orders.
Must be able to perform replenishment operations using RF Scanner and SAP processes effectively and accurately.
Must be certified or become certified in the use of a “cherry picker” (material handling equipment).
Must be able to communicate verbally and orally issues associated with order processing process to include safety considerations throughout the order processing process.
Must be able to effectively use RF scanner to process customer orders.
Must consistently meet or exceed productivity and quality standards as specified in the department’s productivity/quality standards.
Must be able to understand and execute basic SAP transactions using the RF Scanner.
Inspect/examine all material/shipments for quality issues, overages, or shortages. Report findings to supervisor; takes corrective action as required.
Must be able to safely open containers, using steel cutters, blades, or other hand tools.
Load and unload materials on to or remove them from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand or by utilizing proper power lift equipment.
Participate in routing, counting, and inspecting items while loading and unloading carts or trucks.
Deliver and return items to correct locations within the warehouse using manual methods or RF Scanner with the SAP system as directed.
Selects product and processes orders accurately as instructed manually and by computerized warehouse management operating system SAP.
Maintain assigned picking aisles as assigned.
Perform routine Preventive Maintenance Checks on assigned equipment.
Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per requests, documents transactions appropriately.
Keep accurate order processing and replenishment records.
Transport product and secure cargo properly and safely with weight evenly distributed on assigned cherry picker.
Ensure that product staged and stored is placed in safe areas and at safe height as directed by management team.
Follow all safety procedures specifically with regard to the proper handling of hazardous materials, taking care to work within warehouse safety guidelines.
Conduct inspection of assigned areas and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
Actively participate in process improvement initiatives as required.
Actively participate in general housekeeping activities.
Assist with periodic physical inventory activities.
Other duties as assigned.
