About The Position
As a Chemotherapy Prep Technician, you will accurately and promptly prepare and dispense chemotherapeutic intravenous admixtures and other medications. Working under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Services, you will help ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and clinical standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of IV mixing and related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PTCB certification or equivalent.
- State Board of Pharmacy registration in the applicable state.
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Strong mathematical proficiency and computer literacy.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medication dosing, pharmacy law, and medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Prepare chemotherapy and other IVs for patient administration.
- Restock drug orders and supplies.
- Monitor drug inventory and maintain inventory logs.
- Clean and maintain pharmacy equipment and workspaces.
- Restock and maintain crash carts, extravasation kits, and tackle boxes.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists to verify orders.
- Comply with USP 797/800 standards for sterile compounding.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
