The Lead Chemotherapy Admixture Technician is responsible for assisting in the provision of medication services and acting as the lead person for all items Pharmacy in the Oncology Infusion Center Pharmacy. This role includes compounding chemotherapy medications using proper aseptic technique, maintaining cleanliness of compounding areas, hoods, and related equipment, and properly handling and disposing of hazardous drugs and waste materials. The technician will perform mathematical calculations for drug measurements, assist in ordering and restocking supplies and medications, and maintain necessary QA logs. Additionally, they will participate in training new employees, comply with incident reporting policies, and adhere to OSHA and Springfield Clinic training requirements. The role also emphasizes providing excellent customer service and adhering to the Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards. In addition to the standard technician duties, the Lead Pharmacy Technician will staff the "Lynx Puller" position, resolve inventory discrepancies, second-check chemotherapy technicians' work, status patients in Athena, conduct routine medication inventories, and pull expired medications.
