About The Position
St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School in Hammond, Louisiana, is seeking a Chemistry Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Depending on the candidate’s expertise and experience, the role may also include teaching additional science courses. The teacher will deliver engaging, rigorous instruction aligned with school, diocesan, and state standards while supporting the mission of Catholic education. The ideal candidate is passionate about science education and student-centered learning, and fosters academic excellence and students’ personal growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Louisiana preferred, but not required.
- Experience teaching high school science preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach high school Chemistry; additional science courses may be assigned based on qualifications.
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans and assessments.
- Create a positive, faith-filled, and academically challenging classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the science department and faculty on curriculum development.
- Support students’ academic and spiritual development.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
