The Chemistry Specialist maintains control over their area of responsibility, which may include the Chemical Control Program, Training Coordinator, Water Treatment, Closed Cooling Waters, Chemistry Instrumentation Specialist, Environmental, Hazardous Waste Programs, or Radiological Effluents. The role involves proposing time-saving improvements, developing long-term planning, and supporting equipment repair/replacement. This position requires developing and revising procedures, enhancing communication through liaison functions, and collaborating with industry peers for standardization. The specialist will also review and generate reports, review departmental and contractor documents, and interface with regulatory and industry representatives. Responsibilities may include serving as a Contract Manager, being part of the HazMat Team, or a member of the Emergency Response Organization, and representing Chemistry with site projects and outage teams.
