About The Position

Our Slurry Production plant in Aurora, Illinois is seeking a Chemistry Technician to join our team. The individuals in this role are responsible for the analytical inspection and testing of incoming materials and experimental and final products; recording and analyzing test data; test rationalization and upgrades; assisting in the development of new test methods, developing and maintaining work instructions and procedures; clear, concise and prompt communication of any issues; instrument calibration/verification; participate in internal ISO9000 audits; and support the production team when necessary. In this role, you will collaborate with other members of the Entegris team in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The successful candidate will play an integral role in providing creative solutions to product development and commercialization challenges for high-performance CMP products used in the semiconductor industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (i.e. Chemistry, Biology, etc.) is required.
  • Demonstration of technical knowledge to add value to Quality Lab operations
  • Strong mathematics skills
  • Experience with SPC, SQC and basic statistical methods
  • Ability to work with basic laboratory measurement equipment
  • Experience with analytical equipment
  • Hands-on experience and analytical abilities.
  • Intermediate computer experience with statistical software packages a plus (i.e. JMP)
  • Basic data entry and spreadsheet development

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience with HPLC and/or ICP technologies is a strong plus.
  • Relevant quality laboratory experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming raw materials
  • Perform analytical tests (and physical property, when applicable) on finished products, experimental products, and customer complaint samples. Focus of testing is analytical, which includes ICP, HPLC and multiple particle sizing.
  • Perform physical property testing, such as pH, viscosity and specific gravity on a rotational basis.
  • Uses judgment to recognize and address deviations from standards, equipment calibration, etc. in order to assure high degree of consistency in tests
  • Verify and calibrate all test equipment per manufacturing recommendations, ASTMs and Entegris test methods.
  • Troubleshoot complex customer testing requirements to achieve resolution
  • Capability to troubleshoot basic to complex maintenance on at least one major tool
  • Proficiency in all Quality Lab tools and testing methods. Expertly performs complex testing across all Quality Lab tools with strong attention to detail, high accuracy, and a cross-functional approach.
  • Technicians may also be asked to guide and assist in the training of team members in the lab.
  • All activities related to recording and running advanced reports related to inspection and test results in accordance with all quality and ISO requirements.
  • Utilizes thorough understanding and application of SPC, SQC and control charting techniques.
  • Enter all control standard and testing data into Sample Manager.
  • Create reports and charts from test data.
  • Analyze data for trends and other quality issues that may appear.
  • Apply judgment in decision making when communicating any trends or quality issues that appear through testing to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate test results through certificates of analysis and contribute data/analysis for monthly metrics and quality reports
  • Actively participate /contribute in the development and writing of new test methods and the corresponding work instructions.
