The Chemistry-Hematology Supervisor (Core Laboratory Technical Operations) works collaboratively with pathologists and clinical and administrative leadership to ensure laboratory services effectively support the clinical and safety initiatives of the enterprise. This role directs and oversees efficient operations, acting as a liaison to lab leadership. The supervisor maintains competency in all test systems and processes within their defined discipline, serves as a competency assessor and department subject matter expert, and identifies, develops, and implements performance improvement processes to enhance patient, teammate, and physician satisfaction. They plan and actively participate in the implementation of standards and systems to enhance quality, consistency, efficiency, and timeliness, fostering innovation for current and future needs. The supervisor ensures all operations and policies comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements, develops processes for continual inspection readiness, and maintains effective communication. Collaboration with other leadership is key to providing excellent customer service. This role is accountable for the accuracy of test results, efficient operations, proper staffing levels, and resource utilization. Additionally, the supervisor selects, coaches, and develops the team, sets clear expectations, manages performance, and makes recommendations for hiring, compensation, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations. They are responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
