Remote Chemistry Expert
About The Position
Turing is seeking Chemistry Experts for remote contract assignments supporting cutting-edge AI projects with leading AI labs. Experts use their chemistry knowledge to help fine-tune large language models, design problems, evaluate AI responses, and collaborate with researchers to improve benchmarks. Assignments have defined start and end dates and may involve up to 40 hours per week. Pay is $100+ per hour, depending on the role and candidate expertise. Shortlisted candidates complete an evaluation before selection. No prior AI experience is required. Turing, based in San Francisco, describes itself as a research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a partner to global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Requirements
- A PhD, either in progress or completed, in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong chemistry reasoning and problem-solving skills across advanced domains.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and provide structured feedback.
Responsibilities
- Design advanced chemistry problems to test AI performance, including in areas such as chemical engineering and biochemistry.
- Develop clear, step-by-step solutions using rigorous logic.
- Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and quality of reasoning.
- Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks across undergraduate- through PhD-level chemistry topics.
