About The Position

Axalta, a global leader in coatings technology, is seeking driven and innovative college students for its Fast Track Early Talent Program. This co-op opportunity at the Global Innovation Center in the Philadelphia Navy Yard offers a meaningful professional experience with multiple roles across Research and Development teams. Students will work on impactful projects, gain hands-on experience, and collaborate with industry experts, combining the intimacy of a smaller team with the innovation of a mid-size global company.

Requirements

• Must be working toward an undergraduate or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field at Drexel University.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must show demonstrated ability to learn on the job.
• Must be an effective problem solver with strong analytical skills.
• Must be results-oriented and a self-starter.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.2.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Axalta Scientists on a well-defined project to develop new products, improve manufacturing processes, or solve customer issues.
• Perform work focused on polymer synthesis, paint formulations, or advanced analytical chemistry instrumentation.
• Have frequent opportunities for direct interaction with global internal manufacturing and marketing groups, as well as external automotive customers.
• Prepare and present a report summarizing project work at the end of the co-op experience.
