Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineer or Chemistry Intern to join our Pigment Technology team! This position will report directly to the Staff Supervisor on the Pigment Technology Team. As a Chemical Engineer or Chemistry Intern, you will work closely with the Titanium Technologies team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in a state-of-the-art research facility. You will have exposure to real-time lab work alongside other engineers and chemists to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom. Effective interns will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive.

Requirements

  • BS Degree OR enrolled at an accredited college or university as a Sophomore or above at time of assignment
  • Obtained or pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or similar fields
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Previous experience (industrial or academic projects) with the following chemical processes: reaction engineering, thermodynamics, titration, and distillation.
  • Minor in data science
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as Matlab, python, and Visual Basic

Responsibilities

  • Working with experienced R&D professionals on process and pigment technology developmental projects
  • Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
  • Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
  • Supporting multiple projects with data analysis
  • Developing data analysis tools
  • Data recordkeeping and organization consistent the Chemours policies for protection of intellectual property
  • Lab work including design, operation, and optimization of lab-scale unit operations such as reactors, crystallizers, distillation columns, filtration, rotary kiln dryer, and mixers.
