About The Position
The Ohio State University at Newark seeks a part time semester lecturer to teach General Chemistry I in the Autumn 2026 semester. Lecturers are in-person, Mondays and Wednesdays 10:05-11:55A. Responsible for facilitation of in-class learning activities, assigning and grading assessments (i.e., quizzes, exams, labs, and homework if applicable), offering of weekly office hours, submission of grades, and resolution of any ongoing student or course issues.
Requirements
- PH.D. in Chemistry or related area.
- Experience teaching Elementary and/or General Chemistry at the post-secondary level.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with The Ohio State University’s department of Chemistry courses and curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver in-person Chemistry 1210 course, both lecture and lab.
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of course content.
- Facilitate in-class learning activities.
- Assign and grade assessments (i.e., quizzes, exams, labs, and homework if applicable).
- Offer weekly office hours.
- Submit grades.
- Resolve any ongoing student or course issues.
