About The Position

Responsibilities include using a range of techniques, software and equipment to carry out scientifically rigorous research, analysis, and reporting. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm. Essential responsibilities include applying knowledge of and experience with chemical markings and detection techniques tailored to the specific requirements, identify and utilize materials and detections systems that meet customer requirements, evaluate technical reports from outside vendors for suitability to meet customer requirements, and support field collection and analysis requirements. The work environment is an office environment. Some climbing and unassisted lifting up to 30 lbs. potentially required. The position requires a B.S. in Chemistry or similar field and 2 years working in a laboratory environment. A Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph is required. Additional responsibilities include safety, quality, and procedure compliance, where all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment, meeting customer expectations, and implementing operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry or similar field
  • 2 years working in a laboratory environment
  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph

  • Familiarity with spectroscopy
  • Work experience with material markings
  • Spectral analysis
  • Optical filtration techniques
  • Laboratory experience using spectroscopic techniques for analysis and identification of materials
  • Experience with ENVI+IDL image and spectral processing software

Responsibilities

  • Participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
  • Consistently providing services that meet customer expectations.
  • Carrying out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Reading and understanding Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Reading, understanding and implementing the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
