Overview: The CDC Foundation seeks candidates for a Chemist II supporting the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Under general supervision, the Chemist II will be responsible for assisting with a government-based postmortem toxicology program. Duties will include working to obtain, review, and analyze data to verify instrumentation used for the analysis of postmortem specimens. This position provides critical support to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (NC OCME) through a diverse range of responsibilities. This role is primarily responsible for conducting LC/MS instrument analysis of single-analyte and multi-analyte quantifications for instrument verification. In addition to hands-on laboratory work, this position plays a pivotal role in supporting the forensic toxicology lab through extensive comparative data analysis.
