About The Position

Acuren Inspection is hiring a Chemistry Technician for local applicants only. The role prepares and analyzes metallic and polymeric specimens, preserves specimen identity and integrity, and uses analytical instruments and techniques for elemental determinations and material identification. It also involves periodic client interaction, laboratory upkeep, inventory management, and preparation of analytical reports and documentation.

Requirements

• Two- to four-year science degree or technical certification from an accredited school.
• Mechanical and mathematical aptitude, with troubleshooting skills.
• English communication skills, including basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to pass drug/alcohol and background screens.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens and perform routine chemical analyses of metallic and polymeric samples using a variety of instruments and techniques.
• Preserve specimen integrity and identity in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Use inductively coupled plasma optical emission, combustion, inert gas fusion, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and ion chromatography for elemental determinations and identification.
• Interact periodically with clients to review work instructions and test results.
• Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and the work space.
• Inventory and order consumables.
• Prepare analytical reports and documentation.
