About The Position

The Customer Applications Chemist is a hands-on chemistry professional who bridges research, product development, and customer success. Reporting to the Vice President of Product Development, this role applies expertise in water chemistry and PFAS treatment while engaging with customers throughout business development and technology deployment. The chemist conducts treatability studies, evaluates customer water chemistries, participates in customer meetings, supports early-stage customer qualification, and recommends effective treatment approaches for specific applications. The role translates technical findings into practical business recommendations supporting customer acquisition, pilot execution, and commercial deployment. The position combines laboratory work, field engagement, and customer interaction. It includes travel to customer facilities as needed, up to 40% of the time, to support pilot planning, startup, operation, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation alongside Claros engineers, scientists, and customer personnel. The role contributes to treatment process development and optimization, technology evaluation, and product performance, reliability, and commercial viability. It is based on-site at Claros headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Claros Technologies is a U.S.-based company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Minneapolis. Its ClarosTech division develops systems for permanent PFAS destruction, and its ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited ClarosLabs division focuses on PFAS detection, quantification, and exposure assessment. The company describes its mission as destroying PFAS and taking the “forever” out of forever chemicals.
