As a Chemical Technician, you play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and chemical processes within the aluminum can manufacturing environment. This entry-level position involves handling day-to-day operations, monitoring chemical processes, and maintaining equipment to support efficient and safe production. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols contribute to maintaining product quality and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with chemical properties, reactions, and safe handling practices
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to production equipment
  • Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly
  • Understanding and application of safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaboration
  • Keen observation skills to monitor processes and ensure quality standards are met
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet production goals
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with team members and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Proficiency in operating production machinery and understanding of basic maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals used in the manufacturing processes
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure longevity
  • Understanding of quality assurance protocols and ability to conduct inspections and tests
  • Competence in documenting process parameters, maintenance activities, and incident reports accurately
  • Familiarity with digital tools and systems used for communication and task execution
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and control chemical processes to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to specifications
  • Operate production machinery and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations, handling chemicals and equipment responsibly to prevent accidents
  • Conduct quality checks and implement improvements to maintain high standards in product output
  • Identify and resolve issues promptly, following established troubleshooting procedures to maintain continuous operations
  • Maintain activities, and any incidents, ensuring clear communication with supervisors and team members
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at optimizing processes, reducing waste, and enhancing overall production efficiency
