About The Position

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Chemical Technician to prepare, analyze, and report quality data results on production, exploration, R&D, and environmental samples to support operational, customer, and regulatory standards. This position is at the Quentin J Schmidt Lab in Viburnum, MO.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of experience utilizing lab equipment
Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training
Valid driver’s license.
Computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), Databases, I-Series, and PeopleSoft
Basic knowledge of quality control standards
Basic organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or related field preferred.
As a chemist or chemical technician preferred
Lab equipment experience with basic understanding of sample prep and analysis procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare, analyze, and report results for samples collected from production, exploration, R&D, and environmental following established methods and quality standards.
Calibrate, operate, and maintain lab instrumentation in accordance with standard procedures and manufacturer recommendations; recognize and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Ensure data meets accuracy and quality requirements, maintaining proper documentation and data integrity for all assigned sample streams.
Record and maintain accurate analytical data and assay results in accordance with laboratory standards to support overall operational and leadership objectives.
Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
