We are looking for a Chemical Specialist to manage the overall chemical program of Midland Basin in conjunction with chemical vendors in order to deliver on commitments to key operational and technical principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work with engineers, production foremen, field personnel, and chemical vendors.
  • Should possess good computer skills in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Additional skills in Spotfire or Business Intelligence tools a bonus.
  • Basic understanding of various Artificial Lift Systems (Beam Lift, Gas Lift, ESP, and Plunger Lift)
  • Understanding and support of root cause failure analysis.
  • Experience with various types of chemical pumps, tank level monitors, and automation
  • 10 + years of experience in the upstream and mid-stream chemical industry
  • Demonstrate ability to perform all job duties and responsibilities with minimal direct supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in the Midland Basin and associated reservoirs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate on Chemical Management Team
  • Work collaboratively with chemical technicians (field-based) to deliver on SOPs.
  • Approve and order new equipment needed for chemical applications (i.e., new chemical pumps and tanks for continuous chemical applications)
  • Apply technical lens and endorse chemical order requests and resulting invoicing
  • Review all chemical data and monthly reports for verification of program and optimization analysis
  • Monitor and optimize program to maximize effectiveness at the lowest cost per BOE.
  • Manage SOP compliance for operational excellence, including sampling program, treatment program, etc.
  • Collaboration with Engineering, Operation and Vendors to manage and implement chemical recommendations by applying technical support.

  • The expected annual salary range for this position is $143,000 - $165,000. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education.
