About The Position

ChemTreat, a Veralto company, is seeking a Chemical Product Manager to own the strategy, performance, and lifecycle of assigned chemical product lines. This role sits at the center of the business, partnering closely with Product Champions, Sales, R&D, Technical Staff, Operations, Procurement, Inventory, Regulatory, and Finance to solve challenges, support the commercial team, and drive portfolio performance. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong technical chemistry foundation who wants to move closer to the business side of product strategy, pricing, lifecycle decisions, and cross-functional leadership while continuing to work in a fast-paced, technical environment. The role is hybrid, four days onsite in Glen Allen, VA and one day remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related technical discipline; a chemistry or other technical degree is strongly preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in product management, R&D, technical service, operations, lab, analytical chemistry or a related technical/commercial role within the chemical, industrial, specialty chemical, water-treatment, paper, packaging or adjacent process-industry environment.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate effectively across technical, commercial, and operational audiences.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, solve urgent issues and work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Interest in growing into the business side of product management while leveraging a strong technical foundation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chemical, industrial, specialty chemical, water-treatment, paper, packaging or similar technical environments.
  • Experience working with commercial teams, technical stakeholders, operations or product-line owners to solve customer or business problems.
  • Background in R&D, analytical chemistry, technical service, lab operations or process-focused technical roles with exposure to business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned chemical product lines, including strategy, performance, setup, optimization, and obsolescence decisions.
  • Serve as the hub between commercial, technical, and operational teams, translating business needs into practical product actions.
  • Partner closely with technical Product Champions to manage product-line strategy, product performance, raw-material challenges, and customer-driven needs.
  • Balance day-to-day issue resolution with longer-term portfolio priorities, adjusting quickly as business needs change.
  • Manage portfolio economics, pricing, profitability, product rationalization, and lifecycle activities in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product Champions, Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, and Operations to execute product strategies.
  • Support product positioning, launch strategies, market initiatives, and sales-enablement materials.
  • Ensure product compliance and support product stewardship and regulatory reviews.
