About The Position
We're looking for a Chemical Process Operator to support our aerospace manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role working with chemical processing equipment, stripping operations, surface preparation, and part inspections. You'll play a key role in ensuring parts meet quality requirements while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. If you're comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, paying attention to detail, and following established processes, we'd like to hear from you.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- Chemical handling experience required
- Previous light or medium industrial experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
- Comfortable working with production documentation and shop travelers
- Basic computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Perform chemical strip operations according to process specifications
- Maintain process tanks, submit samples to the lab, and make required chemical additions
- Wear and properly use required PPE, including face shields, safety glasses, gloves, chemical aprons, and other protective equipment
- Wax and wax-inject parts as required
- Perform grit blasting and heat tint operations
- Conduct strip inspections and verify parts meet requirements
- Complete shop traveler documentation and maintain process logbooks
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and identify maintenance needs
- Maintain quality standards and production requirements
- Follow IPM, QPM, and ISO quality requirements
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
- Communicate quality concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
- Help with other shop duties as needed
