As a Chemical Operator (Tank Farm Processor) on 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday 3:00 – 11:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays per business need. You will play a critical, safety-focused role in the manufacturing of bleach, operating as a chemical operator in our tank farm and processing area. You will manage the loading and unloading of chlorine rail cars, perform in-process quality testing, handle raw materials, and carry out minor mechanical maintenance — all while maintaining strict compliance with OSHA, environmental, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. This is a hands-on role in a high-hazard environment where attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to safety directly protect our team, our product, and our community. This position offers an hourly rate ranging from $22.34 to $26.97, based on the candidate's experience, plus a $0.25 shift differential for all hours worked outside of 1st Shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of hands-on experience with hazardous liquid chemical plant processing.
  • 1 or more years of prior tank farm or rail car loading/unloading experience
  • 1 or more years of experience driving a sit down Forklift (required)
  • Direct experience handling chlorine or other highly hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and strict guidelines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, solid math skills, and computer proficiency (Word/Excel).
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record, with the ability to consistently work the assigned schedule.
  • Ability to work safely and carefully in a high-hazard environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the duties of a chemical operator in the manufacturing of bleach in a plant setting.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of chlorine rail cars in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Perform quality checks such as titration, filter testing, and water hardness testing on batched product.
  • Manage raw material movement via forklift truck.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs, including gasket replacements and processing piping preventive maintenance (PM), in the area.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and communicate shift status via email.
  • Carefully follow guidelines for wastewater treatment and the disposal of wastewater.
  • Comply with all OSHA Hazardous Materials procedures to safely handle chemicals.
  • Follow all Safety and GMP guidelines.
  • Participate in the site emergency response team.
