About The Position

The chemical plant operator provides specific chemical process operation and support. The ideal candidate will be attentive, knowledgeable, and have a desire to work with other production team members to develop the best processes and products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Understanding of chemical process
• Aptitude for mechanics
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed specifications, basic computer skills
• Must be able to perform several mental tasks simultaneously
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

• More education or experience in a related field may be required
• Experience working with front-end loaders may be preferred or required

Responsibilities

• Loads and/or unloads trucks, totes, drums, and railcars as required
• Performs lab analysis as required
• Prints Bills of Lading and Certificates of Analysis as required
• Operates the plant-specific chemical process systems as needed
• Operates forklift and pay loader as needed
• Measure and record accurate product, process, and safety data.
• Performs lab analysis as required
• Meet the physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, operating tools, and wearing safety gear
• Must be able to interface courteously with customers via telephone during night/weekend hours, when needed; good basic “people skills”
• Observe all company, local, state, and federal safety and quality regulations
• Adheres to all ISO standard operating procedures
• Attends monthly safety meetings and required training seminars
• Performs other duties as required/assigned by Plant Manager, Immediate Supervisor, or Transportation Supervisor
