About The Position

Innophos is seeking a direct hire Acid Plant Treater to work in our Nashville location. The Acid Plant Treater has the overall responsibility to maintain the safety, quality, and environmental effectiveness of the departmental operations. This role involves the overall efficient operation of the chemical production process in one of several production units. The operator will be responsible for understanding and maintaining records for safety, quality, housekeeping, environmental compliance, and production output. They will utilize an HMI system to monitor process and storage tanks or hopper levels, manage process operating parameters for efficiency, operate and troubleshoot all equipment and instrumentation, adjust and clean equipment, and record data on logs and spreadsheets, as well as in the JDE E1 system. Depending on the process, responsibilities may include safely unloading raw material railcars, packaging phosphoric or polyphosphoric acid into various containers, inspecting and maintaining process filters, mills, and sieving screens, and moving materials using a forklift within a restricted space.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be available to work changing/rotating shifts and schedules
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be capable of becoming a licensed lift truck operator
  • Must be capable of accurately completing log sheets/reports, both paper and electronic
  • Must be capable of understanding written material
  • Must be capable of performing basic mathematics
  • Must be capable of making appropriate transactions in E1
  • Demonstrate knowledge of process flow description (PFD), key process control points, process description, round sheets and data sheets, analytical specifications and their control, all relevant job analyses, and appropriate troubleshooting.
  • Demonstration of the above knowledge includes written and oral testing and actual operation of equipment, to meet minimum standards of acceptability.
  • Must have a good attendance record
  • Must have 3+ years of industrial chemical operator experience
  • Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices including the proper wearing of clean protective clothing, following personal hygiene standards, and adherence to food/drink/tobacco restrictions
  • Able to wear a respirator (must comply with facial hair policy) and other required personal protective equipment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety, quality, and environmental effectiveness of departmental operations.
  • Ensure the overall efficient operation of the chemical production process.
  • Understand and maintain records for safety, quality, housekeeping, environmental compliance, and production output.

  • Operate and troubleshoot all equipment and instrumentation.
  • Adjust and clean equipment.
  • Record data on appropriate logs and spreadsheets, as well as in the JDE E1 system.
  • Safely and efficiently unload raw material railcars (depending on the process).
  • Package phosphoric or polyphosphoric acid into railcars, bulk trucks, totes, and varying sizes of drums (depending on the process).
  • Inspect and maintain process filters, mills, and sieving screens.
  • Move pallets, containers, and equipment throughout a restricted space using a forklift.
