About The Position

FedChem, a subsidiary of FPC International, Inc., is looking for a motivated, safety-conscious, and strong problem solver to join the team as a Chemical Operator. In this role, the Chemical Operator will be responsible for initiating and controlling the manufacturing of chemicals in the chemical plant. Requirements

  • Understanding of chemical processes and reactions.
  • Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for chemical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a chemical plant.
  • Troubleshooting skills to identify and address equipment issues.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the use of the Internet.
  • Developed mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment and a great understanding of safety protocol.
  • The availability to work in a 24/7 facility is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Certification is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates chemical manufacturing processes in reactors, ensuring precise adherence to standardized formulas and protocols.
  • Oversees raw material charging, batch monitoring, and equipment operation, including forklift usage, in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Performs packaging, filtration, and materials handling with attention to minimizing contamination and ensuring product integrity.
  • Conducts minor maintenance and inspection tasks following safety checklists to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Engages in the company's safety program regularly and adheres to all safety protocol and guidelines and reports any safety hazards immediately.
  • Participates in small, self-directed teams during operational hours.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and resolve issues efficiently.
