About The Position

The Chemical Mixer is responsible for manufacturing material according to batch cards and mixing work instructions, ensuring specified quality requirements are met. This role involves inspecting and recording finished batches, maintaining material lot control information, and monitoring the integrity of mixes, with the ability to shut down operations if out of compliance. The position also includes cleaning mixing equipment between batches, bulk filling of drums and totes, assisting on production lines as needed, and aiding in the training of new mixers. Computer and forklift experience are required, along with the ability to understand and follow instructions. The role promotes and follows all safety guidelines and procedures, recommends safety improvements, and suggests process improvements. Maintaining good housekeeping is essential. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 -5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment; preferably automotive or bottling and packaging.
  • Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English.
  • Must have the ability to perform simple math calculations.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be certified to drive all types of forklifts.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing material according to batch cards and mixing work instructions safely and with the specify quality requirements.
  • Inspection and recording of finished batches.
  • Maintaining the material lot control information board.
  • Monitoring the integrity of mixes and shutting down operations if out of compliance.
  • Cleaning mixing equipment between batches.
  • Bulk filling of 55-gallon drums and 275-gallon totes.
  • Assisting on production lines as needed.
  • Assisting in the training of new mixers.
  • Promoting and following all safety guidelines and procedures, and recommending safety improvements as needed.
  • Recommend any process improvements that may help in your role.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping at all times.
