This role is responsible for the receipt, maintenance of records, and inventorying of controlled wastes.

Requirements

US Citizenship, able to obtain and maintain US DOE Q level security clearance
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work any shift
Pass professional certification examination
Must be able to meet all required medical PPE and respirator requirements

Nice To Haves

Experience with chemical compatibilities and characteristics, spill cleanup and decontamination procedures, segregation of controlled waste, and emergency response procedures
Experience with tearing down product and assemblies that are designed for destruction with a wide variety of equipment (Disintegrator, Shredder, Hammer mill, hand tools)
Fork truck experience in manufacturing setting

Responsibilities

Receipt, maintenance of records, and inventorying of controlled wastes.
Operates a CRT to maintain records dealing with excess property, precious metals, hazardous wastes, and classified scrap.
Receipt and inventorying of excess property, precious metals, radioactive wastes, hazardous wastes, and classified scrap.
Operating the hazardous material tank farm, mixing crib, and staging areas; conducting inspections of all areas, and maintaining inventory and inspection records for hazardous waste operations.
Emergency chemical spill cleanup.
Precious metal recovery operations.
Issuing supplies and containers to operating departments.
Cleanup of controlled materials and decontaminating as required.
Pumping controlled waste to and from tanks, sumps and pits, and cleaning transfer equipment involved.
Using all tools and equipment necessary to the performance of the task and may perform minor routine maintenance.
Working from written or oral instructions.
Performing necessary paperwork pursuant to the task.
Performing duties of the Material Handler classification as required.
